Cavity Spacer for Large Injection Mold Frame, 1/2"

0.48 inch thick spacer for MF505040 Large Injection Mold Frame.

This spacer reduces the cavity depth of one side of the mold frame by 0.48". For the MF404050, this reduces the depth of one side from 1.48" to 1.0". A shallower depth reduces the amount of resin required to print the mold insert if the full depth is not required for the part being molded.

This spacer fills the retention channel in the mold frame, so it can only be used with mold inserts that are bolted in. One spacer can be used in each side of the mold frame if desired.

It is also possible to 3D print a similar spacer, but in our experience, machined aluminum has a more consistent thickness from one side to the other. This reduces a variable in getting good molding results.
