The 955DQ is a Linear Displacement Transducer (LDT) with quadrature output in a low profile extruded aluminum package. This transducer uses Ametek's field proven magnetostrictive technology to give absolute position, repeatable to .006% of the programmable sensing distance. The Ametek 955 series has an auto tuning feature that allows it to sense a magnet other than the standard slide magnet and adjust its signal strength accordingly.
The quadrature output 955DQ is designed to send position data directly to a high speed input with resolutions up to 9,999 cycles per inch. The transducer position is absolute and has a burst mode that sends absolute position data when the controller initiates an input signal. Re-homing is not required and the zero position can be reset at any time. Data output is provided in engineering units eliminating the need for calibration constant (wire speed) programming. Output resolution, frequency, and mode must be specified to meet the requirements of the controller. The units can be ordered in span lengths from 5” to 180” in 0.1” increments.

A complete system normally requires the following components:

- Magnet (purchased separately)
- Cable Assembly (purchased separately)
- Mounting feet (purchased separately). It is recommended to use one mounting foot at each end and one every three feet between.
